How Was Your Christmas?

Did you hear the bells
on Christmas Eve,
from Santa's sleigh?
Did you believe?

Did you hang your stocking,
for when he'd stop by?
As the clock was tick-tocking,
did eight reindeer fly?

Did you leave out cookies,
or some kind of snacks,
So Santa could sit for a spell
and relax?

Did you then settle in
for your Christmas Eve nap?
Were you then paid a visit
by that jolly ol' chap?

Did you wake up to find
your gifts, many or few,
Did you feel like a kid,
a younger, spirited you?

Did you then remember,
a young babe who was born,
a long time ago,
on the first Christmas morn?

He was God's gift to us,
from Heaven above.
Do you share that spirit
of giving and love?

Santa remembers,
then just plays a part,
to spread love and joy
to all kids at heart.

May you hear the bells,
on every Christmas Eve.
May joy fill your hearts,
if you just believe!

Best Beansie Wishes,
to you and your kin...
May God bless you all
as the New Year rings in!

What a wonderful poem. You're so smart! Our Christmas celebration will actually be January 2nd because Sister S had an ice storm in WV and couldn't get off the mountain. Hope your Christmas was merry and bright. xxoo

Tina: Thanks so much for visiting. I guess I shouldn't have said anything in my blog, but between the 3 year cold shoulder in Vermont (we are flatlanders, and proud of it, I might add) and the horrific over the top display of presents I saw on the blog today, it was just enough for one year!

You are doing so well with your move. We have moved 16 times! This last one to Vermont is particularly lonely, but I have great plans in blogland with my friends there.

I think we can get together a little group that is using up, no deadlines, and just sharing.

We have our son home for 3 weeks. It's the best present.

Happy Christmas to you too! I hope you had a wonderful holiday in your new home and made some special new memories to make you feel comfy and cozy. It's frigid and snow-covered here in the heartland, but all my kiddos are home and that's all I need.

In response to Simone's question, yes I wrote this poem. I like to dabble with poetry when, occasionally, the mood hits me just right! I'm so glad you liked it! Thanks!
