Make Time For Tea Time!

It's been much to my disappointment that I've missed serving tea for several weeks now, busy with one thing and another, preventing me from tending to one of my most favorite weekly events.  I have loved tea parties ever since I was a little girl visiting with my great grandmother; and in those same years I also remember the times I'd set up a table, or even just the top of my bed, for tea with all the dear dollies I loved so much!

I may be older now, but as many of us know, there's still something about Tea Time, that will remain forever special.  I may have tea alone, or perhaps with family or friends;  but as you can see, the years haven't stopped me from including my dollies and teddy bears as very special guests!

A few weeks ago, I found a teapot at a moving sale we had come across, on our way to other destinations.  This one has a pretty pink rose on the front, with a sweet little rosebud at the top of it's lid.

From the moment I saw it, it took only as long as my quick and determined steps towards it, to sweep this new found treasure into my possession, bubbling with excitement at the thought of bringing it home with me!

Just a short and very simple story behind the pretty little vessel which I serve tea in today!  I'm so happy you could join me for a cup, though!  Please help yourself to cream and sugar, and some homemade muffins!

The weather has cooled down a bit, allowing me to bake some homemade goodies, and I do not take this time for granted!  I found the recipe for these Sugar Donut Muffins from The Domestic Engineer!  In her recipe, she noted that she did not use nutmeg, but I did, and the kids and I LOVED them!  The recipe was quick and easy!  They freeze beautifully, and I'm quite certain it will not be long before I make them again!

It's hard to believe the school year is almost over.  Dear Son couldn't be happier, of course!  I'm hoping he will make good use of this time off.

He loves his computer and electronic games of course, but I will most assuredly be encouraging him to read a book, learn the guitar... maybe throw in a cooking lesson or two, here and there with him.  He is increasingly interested to join a gym, so we will look into that!  Of course we always get that little extra bit of exercise in, when we take the dog for walks around the neighborhood, or to the park!

Dear Daughter talks about possibly going on a short vacation to Florida during the Summer.  This is wonderful, and she most certainly deserves this!  She's worked so hard, between college and teaching full-time already!...  But if she goes, I will definitely miss her, even for the short period that she'll be gone!

I am fitting everything I can into every minute lately, as I always have so much I want and have to do.  I have gotten a good deal of crocheting in.  The projects I've worked on are small, but enjoyable to make, just the same!

Of course, lately, a great deal of the red, white, and blue color scheme is going into each project as I go along!   I found this "tea" towel at my local CVS, then just crocheted a hanging topper for it!  Patterns for both the Rose Petal Potholder (above), and the Hot Pad Roundup (below), can be found at Crochet Soiree

At the same time, I am thoroughly engrossed in the 3rd book of the Twilight series, Eclipse!  I am presently in the middle of Chapter 13, about midway through the book now!  While shopping Walmarts over the weekend, they had Twilight t-shirts on sale for $1.00 a piece!...  Hmmm...  Guess what I'm wearing today!  We watched the movie New Moon, and I loved it!  While sitting around the t.v., I set out a homemade Chicken Cordon Bleu Pizza, fresh out of the oven!  I found the recipe for it HERE, at One Crazy Cookie!  Oh my gosh, it was DELICIOUS, so this recipe is also a keeper!

Well, while the weather remains cool as it is, holding to the 70-degree range these last few days, I hope to get a little more baking in.  It's just of matter of deciding which recipe(s), old or new, I'd like to go with today!  I also have dishes to wash, laundry to fold, and a tub to clean;  but sometime later today, whenever time allows, I would like to work on my Blessings sampler!  I got to spend some time with a dear friend yesterday, and I'm feeling inspired to stitch at least a couple of squares!

Today, I am linking with:

Sandi, at Rose Chintz Cottage & Inspirations, for Tea Time Tuesday;

and with Martha, at Martha's Favorites, for Tea Cup Tuesday;

and with Wanda Lee, at The Plumed Pen, for Tuesday Tea for Two!

My gosh, tea is being served every which way you look!..

 So, thank you so much for stopping by to visit with me!

Oooooo,I so enjoyed the tea,the muffins...but most of all,I enjoyed the tea and visit with a dear friend. The teapot is so pretty and the tea cups are just gorgeous....
Suri and Oscar wanted to thank you also for the tea party..but specially,they wanted to give you a hug, and they want to say hi to their friend Nanette. And they want to introduce their new friend that has come to live at our house Her name is Conner..and she is an owl. When CC can find time to take a picture, we will properly introduce her. I think that's all we gonna say..just hug Nanette for us, and a big hug for you too. And CC says hugs from her too.. :)

Hi Tina,
I am so happy you have joined me today for Tea Time! You have been missed, my dear! I always loved tea parties with my dolls when I was a little girl, now we get to do it as grown-ups. Who would have thought the day would come when we would be sitting in front of a computer and having them? Love your teacup and those donut muffins look scrumptious!
My boys, including my hubby, have all gone to the gym. My hubby still works out and he looks better now than when he was a young man.
Thanks for joining me today and I hope you have a wonderful week.

Blessings,
Sandi
