Some Superbowl Blues

Sigh.. Yes, here it is Monday.. Blue Monday, infact, graciously hosted by Smiling Sally each and every week! But I'm afraid I have no blue treasures to share today. Instead of displaying my blues, I'm FEELING the blues!

You see, last night was the big game.. The Superbowl! Two wonderful teams were playing each other, and of course, one team had to lose in the end. I was just really hoping it wasn't my team, the blue team.

Yes, I had my hopes up, and all the snacks and beverages ready and set up for the occasion.. some in the dining room, and some in the kitchen! The blues were feeling and looking pretty good, as the game was just about to begin!

See the football cake, I made? Why, I even made blue jello, in all my team spirit!.. not that anybody touched it.. I guess maybe I'll have some with my lunch today!

However, while the Indianapolis Colts started out well in the first half, the New Orleans Saints pulled ahead in the second half, and won the game 31-17.

Why I can't even drown my sorrows with shopping! The salt was just getting rubbed into my wounds even MORE, when this morning I find one of my shopping channels has Superbowl Champs merchandise on the air, all in black and gold, with little Fleur-de-Lis emblems all over them!

Baby cry Pictures, Images and Photos

Yes, I think I'm feeling a little in the mood for some blues music, but I don't want my visitors feeling blue TOO! So here's a little compromise I came across, since I'm feeling a bit of a cry baby today!

Now see? Did that make YOU smile?! It certainly made ME smile! Even the mother was BLUE! In fact, I'll bet this song will take my mind off the game, and be stuck in my head ALL DAY today!.. Ya think?! Oh dear. Of course, I guess I should extend my apologies ahead of time, if you should find it has the same effect on you!

Moving on, today is Day 8 of The Fourteen Days of Love, hosted by Liz at Brambleberry Cottage! Today's theme is "Must Love Pets"!

So here are our three! These photos were taken last Easter!

Many of you may remember Ubu, our cocker spaniel! He is six years old. Only a snack could have possibly held him so still and so nicely for THIS photo!

Next, you see the Queen Bee of the three, Little Miss Skyler! She is seven years old now. She is a nice cat in general, and absolutely beautiful!.. But she is a somewhat nervous sort. A group photo of the three pets all together is quite out of the question, as far as she's concerned. She definitely likes her space from the other two, who are like brothers!

And this is the newest member to our family, Tuffy! This big boy is two years old now.

Yes, this is our little crew of furbabies here! I hope you enjoyed your visit here today.. I would never want YOU leaving here, feeling blue! In all my desire to be a good sport, I do want to congratulate the New Orleans Saints and all the fans today! Thanks to everybody so much for stopping by, and I hope you will pay a visit with both Sally and Liz today, to see the fun that's happening on this fine Monday all over Blogland!

((Hugs))

Good morning, even though part of us was cheering, the host and his wife where quite sad. But at least we can all be happy for the Saints after 41 yrs it's time. Payton is a home grown boy so it hurt a little for him to loss, but then I was kinda torn when the Saints put Brett out of the running this year another Mississippi home grown boy. So for me who ever won this year was a good one.
Thanks for the smiles. And love your pets.

I just love your adorable spirit and personality!! :)
I am so sorry to say that all my bunch, out here in West Texas, was pulling for the Saints. Now, I am so not a football fan so it made absolutely NO difference to me who won. But...Mr. Sweet said I was to say "I'm pullin' for the Saints", so....I did ! :)
We had over 20 people at our SuperBowl party..posting it tomorrow..
Your football cake is so cute. I need to find out how you made it so I can do it for next year....

My sister lives in Indianapolis and she was really sad yesterday too. I usually root for the Colts to, but my Son In Law is from New Orleans so I was rooting the the Saints. In fact they are on their way to Marti Gras this week. I know they will still be celebrating.

Hi Tina~
I was disappointed the Colts lost, too. DH was glad for the Saints cuz he really likes Drew Brees. Both quarterbacks are good guys, I think. That is so cute you made a football cake and blue Jell-O. Your precious furbabies are lovely. White kitty, beautiful. Black and white kitty, beautiful. Cocker Spaniel, beautiful. We used to have a b&w kitty named Mew-mew...loved her to pieces. I think all-white kitties are so gorgeous...my brother has had two that he rescued: Cordelia and Anne. Anne's about 19 now!
Can ya tell I've had my coffee?
Happy Blues~

Thank you also for following with me as I banter through etiquette in my family. It should be an interesting journey to say the least. We shall see. Have a blessed week, Cherie

Tina, I am sorry about your Colts, but it looks like you threw a great party. The baby blankie blues was perfect. My 17 year old was so attached to his a toddler that he would sit in front of the washer and dryer and fall asleep waiting for it to come out.

I didn't go to all the "Blue" trouble you did, but I wore my #18 jersey and pulled for the Colts. I told Hunter I wanted it to be a high-scoring and close game, but I sure expected it to go the other way. :( At least you had lots of yummy snacks and drinks to wash away your sorrows.

Can you believe we don't watch tv? I love it!

You asked about the tennis ball. Take a used tennis ball (not a new one as they are too stiff and hard) and lay on your bed or the floor. Place the ball in the area that hurts on your back (between bed and body)- breathe deep breaths as the ball releases the pressure points- slowly-very slowly move body to where ball will move slightly then hold some more and move on- You can also put 2 balls in a sock and tie them up then place the sock balls down middle of back while lying down. Slowly inch body so that balls go down back vertebra- it's a do it yourself massage - my left mid shoulder wing area was the part that was so tight so I kept working on that area through out the day- just 5 -7 minutes at a time. Sometimes it hurts like heck but you know that tight muscle is going to release eventually!

Hello Beansie, your post did not make me blue. I was rooting for the Saints. I do know how blue I can get if our Gators lose so I will give you some sympathy. I did laugh out loud watching the blues utube. Very cute. Thanks for a fun post. I too love our baby poodle. I posted her on today's post. Your pets are darling. We do love them don't we?

Hello Tina,

It's so good to be back, albeit with a much slower (and cheaper) Internet connection. I just LOVE the photos of your pets. They are adorable. I've missed Ubu too ;-) I hope they're all doing well. I'm still looking for a home for Mr. Bootsie - I think he's adopted me even though I'm not allowed more than 2 pets. He sleeps on my porch at night (I fix him a warm spot with a couple of pillows because it's been so cold) and I let him in to eat in peace without having to worry about other cats coming around and stealing his food. My dog, Gizzy, still hates cats - and probably always will - but he's getting older and sleeps more, so most of the time he sleeps right through Bootsie's private midnight feedings in inside (he, he, he) My cat Middi, just watches him eat. I think she would like having a playmate in the house because Gizzy's such a grumpy little ole man ;-)

Since my Internet's so slow, I probably won't be on the computer as much as before (I get too frustrated) but I can at least keep in touch with my bloggie friends and my e-mails from family and friends afar. Plus, I reopened my shop so that I can offer my work in case someone wants to buy anything.

Again, it's good to hear from you. I remember being worried about you after I've not heard anything from you right after Halloween when you were moving. How is your new home working out, Tina? I hope you're settled in and comfy and don't have to move for a while. It's such hard work and I'm actually contemplating it because of all the new allergies and breathing problems I have here in the deep South. I have to live somewhere cooler. I breathe so much better in the cold climatesk, like now. I wish it were winter all year long. I like this weather and so does my boy!

Have a lovely day!
Doris and the gang :-)

Oh, your cake looks great - you are such a good hostess! I want to come to your house. We never have anything good to eat around here - wahhhhh! But, I know who's to blame for that - Middi just won't cook for me ;-)
