My Pink Patchwork Afghan

Don't you blink,
For quick as a wink,
"Already?", you think?!
It's time for more Pink!

My gosh, where does the time go? Here it is, Saturday, September 26th! Somehow, it feels like the month just flew by in a blur, and I'm left here shaking my head in disbelief that October is just around the corner! It just doesn't seem possible!

Well, Saturday it is, and a PINK one at that! Each and every week, Beverly, from How Sweet The Sound, hosts this grand event known as Pink Saturday! Please do stop to see her and a listing of all the other Pink participants for today! It's always fun to see all the pinks that everyone has come up with! If you like what you see, and you'd like to play along, then just say the word, and Bev will add you to the list! Like the saying goes, "Be there, or be square"!

Oh just kidding, of course! You do what you like, in whatever color that makes you happy!.. But speaking of squares, I finally finished my granny square afghan! It is done with a variety of squares, made not only by myself, but some of which were made by friends from ATCT! Each square is approximately 7", turned 8" with a white border. Donna, from Smooth Fox Original Crochet Patterns, will recognize the heart squares that I made using her pattern!

I did not take the time to measure it, but it does just cover the top surface of a full sized bed. The nights got chilly, as I worked on finishing this; but that's the perfect time to be working on such a project! You keep toasty warm underneath it all the while!

Once all the squares were sewn, I crocheted a scallop edging all around. I really am happy with how it all came together!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Happy Pink Saturday, and have a wonderful weekend!

Love the little poem, love the alarm clock (I want it!) and love love love the afghan! I really must make one - this has inspired me. It looks cosy, toasty and I never saw heart squares before - they just make it so special! Well done, Tina - how on earth you find the time to do all this, I'll never know.

AAAhhh - it's my blinkie, it's my blinkie! Thank you!

Happy Pink Saturday, angel!

Love all that pink! I am a 'hooker' myself and have made many in my time on this earth. Even sold some at the Black Market Bazaar they have every year at work. Haven't done much this year so far though. Too much work, too many health situations, and not enough time to be 'one' with the yarn. Thanks for sharing that beauty. xxoo

Oh Beansie! I think I need to make one as I really need the warmth during these cold days. Right now we have another typhoon hit the country. It's been raining real hard and winds are blowing wildly. To think this our place is not the center of it all. :-(

And of course, it should be pretty too like yours LOL

Happy Pink Saturday!

Li

You did a fantastic job on your "Pink" afghan! I know from working on that orange and black one just how much time and effort goes into making the squares and stitching them all together. You're amazing with all that you do! Congrats on another beautiful project.

I bet that alarm is loud when it goes off! It's stylish though. Your afghan is beautiful. I can't crochet more than a basic stitch unfortunately. I've done a few baby blankets, but with yarn that is VERY forgiving! Happy Pink Saturday and have a great day today.

Wow Tina what a wonderful Afghan you did a wonderful job. Great post for pink Saturday I love it. Thanks for stopping by my blog today, I love our visits. I can't wait till Magical Sunday either :0)

Have a great weekend girl, great blanket. I used to sit under the one my grandmother's granmother had made as a child. We have since packed it up due to the age of it, we don't want anything to happen to it. But memories of where and what they were doing when they made the blanket. How lovely.

Blessings,
Heidi

I really like your afghan. I have several but none in these beautiful colors. However, I did not make mine. Had to buy them as I never learned to crochet.

Your afghan is very nice and what a nice job you did...I especially like the heart squares. I may have to look for that pattern. I don't crochet much anymore as I'm into knitting and for blankets I use quilts since I have lots and lots of them. I have a favorite pink mile a minute afghan made by my Mother...I'll have show it one Pink Saturday Soon. Thanks for visiting CollectInTexas Gal today and commenting on my tribute to Annette. It was sad to hear about her death this past summer, and Yes, she was a NICE 60's girl...a great role model....Sue

Wow- you are very talented!! I think it is so fun that each square is different. My great aunt knitted a pink and white blanket for me as a wedding present 34 years ago...can you believe it still looks new and we use it every winter....it is the warmest blanket I've ever had...your afghan reminds me of our blanket..but yours is so much more creative, mine is just a flamestitch design. I know you will enjoy your afghan for years to come...thanks for stopping by and visiting me. Miss Bloomers/Sonia
