A Flood of Emotions In Pink

Till nearly the last minute, here I was, still deciding on what I would post for this week's Pink Saturday event. It's been a busy week, but I thought surely I'll find something. I wasn't feeling overly worried about it. Even as late as 8:00 this evening, I still had nothing planned for certain.

As I was baking a cake for Dear Daughter, for her college graduation tomorrow, she stepped out of her room to show me how she looked in her cap and gown.. And it was like the whole world just came to a stop. This was different than just that high school cap and gown. Oh, I was proud of her in that, but this was so much more! She is not that kid anymore. She worked so much harder for this cap and gown.. I KNOW.. I SAW how hard she worked for this cap and gown. I was nearly speechless when I saw it on her, and almost cried on the spot. There she stood in front of me, a beautiful young woman now, preparing for this special day, to celebrate this great accomplishment as she continues to follow her hopes and dreams...

As she went back to her room to change into pajamas, and get ready for bed, I knew in an instant what I wanted to post for Pink Saturday. A flood of memories, lead me to a jewelry box in my own room. There are no fancy earrings, or necklaces, or gems of any kind in this jewelry box. The items in this jewelry box are worth FAR more than any gold, silver, or diamonds could EVER mean to me...
Here is my sweet baby girl, dressed in pink, not even a full week since coming home from the hospital, after she was born. Here is her little pink pacifier... And here is her first pair of little pink eyeglasses she had to wear when she was only two. How can time have flown so swiftly? I cannot find any more words to say, as the flood of emotions just will not allow.. Oh, but then, I really don't need to say anymore, do I? Any loving mother out there understands that this picture speaks a million words all on its own.

What a beautiful tribute to your daughter. Your post brought tears to my eyes. I know that if I blink too quickly my soon-to-be 5-year old will become a soon-to-be college graduate. For that I am just not ready!

What a wonderful blog post for Pink Saturday! It's windy and raining here in Upper Michigan today, so this is a breath of spring for me☺

Isn't it just horrible how quickly the time flies? I wish I could hold each of my sons...or even my granchildren...again when they were tiny. Just to snuggle that little head under my chin so I could rock them to sleep. Boy, you sure brought back some memories for me...

Wishing you a wonderful weekend filled with sunshine and the j♥y of being surrounded by those you l♥ve.

See you next week!
